Crepes and Galettes at the Café

Although Crepes are commonly found in restaurants throughout the United States, the thin buckwheat Crepe called “Galette” is not.

In fact, Croissants de France in Old Town Key West is one of the very few outlets for Galettes anywhere this side of the Atlantic.

Galettes are similar to the fine, sweet crepes most everyone is familiar although in Brittany tradition, buckwheat flour replaces the white flour used in the Crepe creating a savory base for the dish. In Brittany, traditionally Crepes are served with sweet fillings, while the Galette is usually served with savory fillings.

Our Galettes & Crêpes are our very special treats. They are made fresh to order and served immediately hot and delicious to your palate. Please understand that this may take a moment – but only a moment!

And, as in Brittany, they are served as they are ready…perhaps not all at once.

But do not worry, you will not have to fend off your tablemates for long, we go out of our way to provide fast and courteous service.
